And every year, we see the impact of unspayed and unneutered outdoor cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are feeding outdoor cats in your neighborhood, you are already doing something incredible and compassionate. One important next step to strongly consider is spaying and neutering. One intact female can quickly lead to dozens of kittens. See the chart above to see how quickly one unsprayed cat can multiply! Many of those kittens will face illness, parasites, trauma, and limited access to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spaying prevents life-threatening uterine\u00a0infections and certain cancers. Neutering reduces fighting, roaming, spraying, and the spread of diseases like FIV. In community cats, Trap Neuter Return programs help stabilize colonies over time.
